Gault is back and is tough and as resourceful as ever.. Thanks Ms. Rand as the name works terrifically well..The characters are even more well defined and very believable. Sam Calvert as the lady FBI agent is made more human and yet just as tough as she needs to be.. Gault as the semi-retired special ops type, ex-spook who stays off the grid until needed is as mean as a snake when he needs to be. Watching him find his human side is interesting to watch.. Mr. Howell's 3rd book shows his development in the spook/thriller genre as the plot is very timely (right out of the headlines) with taut timing, some really bad hombres and mucho military/spook lingo for the fans.
Give him a try.... A great read..

Excellent
this series is great - I love the characters and I think this would translate well to the screen - or not - great book on its own but highly recommend reading the series in order.
so totally picturesque. I can see the scenes, I can feel the heat of the desert. DH does a great job evoking these images - who knew he had it in him?!
